If he continues to show his abilities while Casey is out, he should continue to start somewhere, Pittsburgh's outfield or otherwise -- the Pirates could move him for pitching and almost any lineup other than the Pirates' will further boost his value.
Imagine this flight of fantasy: Lowell continues to struggle, Youkilis moves back over to third, Clement is moved to Pittsburgh (also giving Papelbon a rotation spot), and the new starting first baseman for the Boston Red Sox: Craig Wilson. Imagine the potential. LOL. Yeah, its far-fetched, but this is FANTASY baseball, no?
That was a very real possibility...before the Wily Mo/Arroyo trade. I don't think it's likely now. In a perfect world, the Pirates would be able to trade Casey (since he's a free agent anyway after this year), but I don't think that's likely anymore, especially because of the injury.
I certainly hope that Wilson continues to get regular AB's. But honestly, a lot could happen w/ the Pirates in a 2 month period before Casey's back.
