Trade RP for SP?

Hi guys,

My roster is below. I feel like I should make a move. I am winning in saves, avg, and rbi, but losing big in W and SB, and falling in power.

Would you do something like try to trade Mariano and (lowe or kazmir) for something like (Dempster or Gonzalez) and Sheets?
Or try to move 2 guys for a hoffman/schilling (or garcia) combo?

Who would you look to move and what kind of value do you think I could get for them?

You have a lot of injury prone players - Griffey and a lot of your SP. I do think you need to make a trade. I would consider parting with Jimmy Rollins to get a quality starter. It hurts to loose Rollins, but Ramirez isn;t a terrible replacement. I'll admit, I don't think your team is playoff bound as of now - but if you upgrade your rotation than I think you have a shot. Personally, I am not that high on Colon based on both his weight and regime.

i would try to find someone who's high on papelbon and get some SP

if you want sheets for mariano get kazmir instead of lowe and to benfefit more

I would certainly trade rivera and kazmir for dempster and sheets - but I'm not sure - because I really think you could get more for rivera.

You have so much injury risk. You need SP help and you are going to have to do it by trading off some of your risk.

Guys you should be trying to package: i'd try and package one from each group: Colon, Schmidt, Kazmir and Berkman, Nady and Worrel

for a SP: Webb, Haren, Doug Davis or Chris Young
and a 3b: Mora, Tracy or Blake

I'd also look to trade Papelbon for a proven guy you know should be closing games in August. Nathan would be great. If you go try to get a lesser proven closer I think Ray from Bal is a good buy. His value should only get better as the season goes on.

Maybe I would like to grab Schilling, and the guy who owns him defintely needs RP, think maybe papelbon+something for him would be fair? (Although that doesnt really help my injury risk eh? lol)

Try Lowe and Papelbon. Lowe isn't flashy, but is pretty good and had good numbers so far.

I agree Lowe is the guy to package. Perhaps trading Jimmy Rollins with Lowe could net you a bigtime arm. I would also move Papelbon before Rivera. You could get a power bat and a good arm for Rollins/Paps/Lowe. Aim high.
