Cliff Floyd left Monday's game after four innings with an undisclosed injury.
On the day Victor Diaz gets sent down. It's bad luck, for sure, but it was also a lousy idea to send Diaz down with Carlos Beltran still hobbled. Jose Valentin replaced Floyd in left field. Man, they need to do something about the grass at Shea, that outfield apparently wrecks hammys...

Seriously though, did anybody think Floyd would make it through TWO seasons healthy?

It would have been nice to see Diaz get some everyday AB's... Met's management and front office has been terrible recently. How long must they wait before recalling Diaz? 7 days is it?

Cliff Floyd left Monday's game after four innings with a strained rib-cage muscle, and the Mets are calling him day-to-day.
On the day Victor Diaz was sent down. It's bad luck, for sure, but it was also a lousy idea to send Diaz down with Carlos Beltran still hobbled. Jose Valentin replaced Floyd in left field. If Floyd goes on the DL, Diaz will come right back to the majors. Otherwise, Diaz will be unable to return for 10 days.
