He's off to a hot start. Is he worth a look or just a flash in the pan?

He has good power for a 2B. I don't expect his BA to be great though.
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.

I'd guess his average eventually levels off to .275 or so, but he's not a bad sleeper for deep leagues.
He's in a favorable spot in the No. 2 hole between Ichiro and Ibanez and is unlikely to lose it to Reed (would make 3 lefties in a row) or Betancourt (all-glove, no-hit shortstop).
The biggest threat to his batting position might actually be Johjima, if he continues to rake the way he has (I'd prefer the M's simply move Joh up in front of Beltre and Everett until one of those guys indicates an ability to hit Major-League pitching again).
Anyway, the final plus for Lopez is that Hargrove seems interested in pressing the case on the basepaths this year, which could make him a threat for double-figure steals despite his lack of blazing speed.
