Do you folks think he'll turn it around at some useful point this season? Is he just trying to get adjusted to AL pitchers, is he just starting slow, or is there more to it?

Loretta was one of my big sleepers this year. I got him in the 21st round and was very pleased. He was an All-Star 2 years ago. Hitting at Fenway and in front of Ortiz and Manny should boost his numbers. Hopefully he's just off to a slow start.

i don't see him exceeding his '04 numbers but i believe he'll be a nice source of runs and avg for a 2b. i'm looking for him to hit slightly over .300 with 12-15 hrs and 110 runs or so. june-aug are normally his best months.

I'm looking for a backup for Rickie Weeks, and Loretta hit the wire. I won't turn this into a waiver wire question, as I'm more interested in Loretta than my transactions.

With players that didn't change situations over the winter, I'm not too worried about slow starts (Manny, Sheffield, etc). Loretta is different though because he's coming over the AL and doesn't have the track record that some of these other players have, though he does have a couple years under his belt.

I had the same high expectations as most everyone, I'm just wondering/having doubt enter my head with regards to him.

i wouldn't worry too much about him. like i said, he really heats up in the summer months of june-aug. with an avg of .340 from 2002-2004. (.310 in 2002, .347 in 2003, and .364 in 2004) last year he didn't play in june, took july to get back on track, and hit .322 in august.

i think he would be a good player to have on reserve.

loretta is a good hitter, i expect him to hit .300, but i dont expect him to score 110 runs, i think hes a decent avg/run guy, but not up at the top...he's a good platoon and decent starting second baseman...

For those of you who picked the Reds to be last in the central (including espn and si)...i hate all of you, and you are wrong...

I dont think any one of us can complain about lorretta, considering that most of us got him pretty late in the draft.
Although he is struggling, he should hit over .300 with lots of doubles...
He'll put up solid numbers in every catagory, and i expect his 04' #s.
