Situational Best team?

Postby NikkiSixx » Mon Apr 17, 2006 12:12 pm

If you could take one of these 3, which would it be?

The Yankees with Randy Johnson on the mound.
The Mets with Pedro Martinez on the mound.
The Red Sox with Curt Schilling on the mound.

I listed them in the order I would take them, what do you guys think?

Just switch the mets with the yanks. Their practically the same team (all 3 of them). Amazing offense, good #1 starter... crap everything else.

Well the Yankees and Mets each have a great closer, the Red Sox appear to have a very good closer but we will see how long Papelbon lasts.

The reason I said the yankees is because they dont have the pitcher hitting.

I'm taking Pedro #1. He is 2nd all time for winning % so for one game I'm taking him.

Next I'm taking Schilling. His 2 games in the 04 ALCS and WS are enough to convince me.

Last I'll take Randy Johnson. Nothing against him (more against the Yankees).

Johnson with the Yanks... the Mets aren't as good a hitting team as the yankees.

Pedro with the Mets

Schilling with Boston

Johnson/yanks --best hitting lineup
Pedro/mets --NL (pedro hitting), not as solid a lineup top-bottom.
Schill/sox --mike lowell anyone?
