I started a thread like this on the Football side and it was pretty interesting to see why people chose the nym they chose. While I'm sure this has been done here before it hasn't been done in a while.

Tell us all why you chose the nym you chose - what it means to you and why it's significant.

I'll start - knapplc = Knapp (my last name), L (My initial), C (my wife's initial).

knapplc has been "me" since I first logged on to the Internet in 1995. I have email addresses of knapplc at hotmail, yahoo, gmail, msn and probably three others I have but never use. I guess I'm a creature of habit, but at least I never have to try to remember my user name.

That's why I'm "knapplc."

Anyways mine is to honor the greatest Red Sox of all time. That, and because I couldn't think of anything creative.

So one started in April, 2004.

The next started in May, 2005.

Now in April, 2006 I start this one.

I suppose someone else will do this again in Spring, 2007? That would be on schedule.

I was in the Library and couldnt think of a user name. I saw a dictionary with the name Webster on the side and I added my favorite number (11) to it. !+)

Yeah...I don't think anyone wants to read through an old thread about it and plenty of people have joined since those were started.

Agreed. Just because a specific topic (like this one) has come up before doesn't mean that it isn't OK to bring it up again. And no, I'm not about to go through those umpteen pages either. :-D

If the guys who posted in the other threads don't want to post in this one I totally understand, but if the newbies like me want to participate, I say "cheers!" ;-D

I always named my fantasy teams 'Omaha Red Sox', so I figured that'd be the easiest for me to remember if I would 'ever return' to the Cafe. I didn't realize I would come back as often as I do. Now I am in constant fear of one of my league-mates seeing my team name. :-o

EDIT - Forgot to add - Omaha (the city I live in) Red Sox (favorite MLB team)...
