Matsui. I think that they are close, and in certain situations Konerko could be more important to your team, especially if you are low on HR. But overall, Matsui puts up better numbers.

Konerko - 100/40/100/.280
Matsui - 115/25/110/.300
Depends how much you need HRs...

I like Matsui better.. he probably will get more Runs and RBIs than Konerko since he plays for the Yankees and will probably have a higher average.

Konerko because he will get more chances for RBI this season with Thome (plus .400 OBP) in that lineup

I'll take Matsui. OF is also a shallower position than 1B as you need to plug 3 guys in there rather than just one.
That is my feeling on the matter that would get me to believe I would rather have matsui over Konerko but could take both if given the chance[/quote]

If you're looking for the better value, I think that Matsui would win in most leagues. I've found that he will usually goes at least a full round after Konerko.
