Took him first twice and I'd do it again. Can't say I'd criticize someone for taking A-Rod first though (especially if I picked second).
Pujols is a freak. He's just been a monster from day 1. I don't think there will be much doubt about the #1 pick for the next few years if he continues what he has done.

It's quite simple to me: when two players put up equal fantasy numbers, except one is five years younger, has had less protection, and has only once posted an OPS as low as the other players career OPS... there is only one choice.
Arod is one of the elite players from his generation, but Pujols could easily go on to become one of the greatest hitters of all time. He came into the league on the same level Arod has leveled off at. If you are going to justify picking Arod first because of an extra 10-15 steals, that's your own choice.

Edited for the sake of controversy.
Also, more importantly, is this week going to be the week that Chris Shelton's ESPN player card unseats the Chris Shelton Apprentice discussion on top of the google results?
Cute. I forgot Pujols has a track record of being a superstar, and in 4 months Chris Shelton will be on most waiver wires.
I forgot not everyone gets sarcasm.
Honestly, though, saying, "Pujols is the #1 fantasy player" is a little like saying, "Chocolate is the best flavor of ice cream." 48% will agree with you; 47% will say, "No, it's vanilla (Rodridguez)" and 5% will pick some crackpot choice of butter pecan or fudge ripple or what not. There may be a little bit of debate, but ultimately it comes down to individual preference, which you're not really going to change.

theres not even a contest between the 2, but to say Shelton will be on waivers is silly. i'm sure at least one team in your league can use a .300 hitter with some decent pop in his bat
