I did the same in a deep league I'm in. It will probably be Shields though.

But...he is only day to day so we'll have to see how this plays out before all K-Rod owners freak out. Having said that, to be safe, I'm benching K-Rod in a points league weekly lineup. There's no reason to take a zero if it's worse than it sounds.

it didn't look that serious. when his right leg was landing, it looked like he twisted it. he grabbed it for a bit, then walked off the field on his own power.

Shields is the guy they trust in that role...he's a guy I highly recommend owning in any roto league if you don't have 5 closers. The Angels usage of him in high leverage situations, the Angels penchant for playing close games, his very good k/9 rate, his very good ratios and K-Rod's constant injuries make him a great 5 category pitcher...something that can be said for only a handful of pitchers. This is a guy that can pitch in 8-12 wins, a hand full of saves, a great number of k's for the innings he uses up, great ratios over quite a few innings for a reliever and can often be had off of the FA list.

I snagged Shields earlier than I wanted to just for such an occasion. I highly doubt they will go to Donnelly, although someone in my big money league picked him up. Im in a league with vultures.

I think the reason Donnelly went in is because the Angels were up by 6 runs.

i have shields and my guess is he'll grab 2-3 saves with nice ratios until k-rod comes back. i drafted shields just for the Ks + ratios knowing any saves would be a bonus

Injury didn't look too serious.... Have to sort of wonder why Scioscia had him in there anyway with the score what it was. I've got K-Rod but I also have shields partually for just this reason, but SHield is worth having on his own right, great #s and vulture wins... worth more than a lot of 2nd tier starters last year even without the save because of his ERA and Ks per inning rate.

DOnnelly doens't come close to Shields in closer ability... Keep in mind, Angel's also have JC Romero who's looked good in what little action he's seen... A few years ago, he was a lights out setup guy.
