Orioles 3, Angels 2
DAVID GINSBURG, Apr 15, 2006
Working with pitching coach Leo Mazzone is paying hefty dividends for Erik Bedard, who used pinpoint control and an overpowering fastball to beat Bartolo Colon and the Los Angeles Angels. Bedard pitched eight strong innings to earn his third win, and the Baltimore Orioles turned a three-run fifth into a 3-2 victory Saturday
Agreed , check last years first 6/7 weeks stats. He was great before injury. I believe pitching coaches get way to much credit. Many time they happen to be in right spot at right time when pitcher matures, thus getting way to much credit.
Bedard's a good young pitcher but durability is big concern. I wouldn't expect him to dominate against the Yanks, Red Sox and the Jays all season. TB is not too shabby when they have a full lineup also.

if i get an offer i'd sell high on him, but i'm not gonna go out and shop him. if i remember he had a pretty bad injury last year, so i can see why he didnt come back to pre-injury form.
I'd sell high on Bedard, he's just had too many problems staying healthy for a full season.
As for his last game, the strike zone was just huge in that game, everything was a strike and the Angels are a mediocre lineup so I'd say not to expect that out of him every week. I still like him to put up decent numbers until the first injury of the year.
