I can't believe I grabbed this kid out of the FA pool 2 days before opening day...
This week:
1 Win, 3 Saves, 7 Ks, 0.00 ERA, 0.60 WHIP over 3.1 innings
I know it's only the 2nd week, but where do you see this kid ending up this year? Do you think he's a year long keeper or a sell high candidate in a few weeks (if he can keep up his stats)?
I see him being the middle of the road with a really good chance at ending up as a top 15 guy. I think he'll end up with 35 saves, which would be great for the many people who took a chance on him.
He looked really good when I saw him for the first time yesterday. He made Vladdy look silly on a 0-2 slider. If he's like that all year I could see him being a top 10 closer.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!
He was a part of my "In Need of explanations" Thread this year in predictions. I love the kid, way before he even got called up I have been raving about his fastball. He was the perfect replacement for Ryan because I see them as similar type of pitchers because of the FB movement.
I banked on him for good stats (see the thread for exact prediction, don't remmember them off the top of my head), but now I think he will exceed them!
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!
yeah I drafted him in all of my leagues, and he is REALLY paying off so far... I think he is safely in the top 10 closers, and if he keeps the ratios like he did last year with a good number of k's he will be right up there...
WTF????? what kind of league would Ray have gone undrafted in??? Even in my crappy free Yahoo league drafts he was always drafted. How did anybody pluck him off the free agent pool? It makes no sense??????????

I think people often are skeptical about new closers, even in a case like Ray's. He was actually dropped in my Yahoo league by someone putting in a waiver on Foulke. I wouldn't advise selling, because I doubt you'd get much more than Bob Wickman for him.
