Is Renteria ok?

Postby Justblaze » Sat Apr 15, 2006 9:10 pm

I have him, and was wondering if he is out. I saw he left with an apparent rib injury. Is it bad? I thinks its diagnosed as a rib cage strain..... anyone know in baseball terms if he is gonna be out long? 15-day DL?

Edgar Renteria - SS - Braves

The Braves are calling Edgar Renteria day-to-day with a rib-cage strain.
If he's truly day-to-day, the Braves have caught a break. It would have been costly to have both Renteria and Chipper Jones sidelined at the same time. Apr. 15 - 9:49 pm et

If Edgar goes on the DL, is Orr worth a look?

Renteria was putting up the best numbers on my team.... I hope JJ Hardy can fill out those shoes!

Sporting News

Latest update April 16, 2006 - 3:44 p.m.
Renteria was out of Sunday's lineup because of a rib cage strain. He was in obvious pain walking around in the clubhouse Sunday morning, the team's website reports.
Fantasy Source spin: The Braves are hopeful Renteria can avoid the disabled list, and should know in the next few days if that's the case. Weekly transaction owners should bench Renteria.

Ykes this is killing me. 1st Coco, then Hermidia, now Edgar thank god its early in the season!

April 16 The Braves aren't ready to place Edgar Renteria on the 15-day disabled list, but they aren't expecting him to play this week, according to the team's official website. "Hopefully six days or so," manager Bobby Cox said. "But that might be wishful hoping." Wilson Betemit moved to shortstop on Sunday while Pete Orr played third base.
