The Red Sox would have to be complete morons to play Pena if they could play Trot. Pena is terrible defensively, has poor plate discipline and has a lot of problems making contact with the ball. He's really just a platoon guy against lefties until he proves otherwise and a team like Boston can't afford to play him every day.

Pena is a terrible fielder, and his performance against the Blue Jays the other day shows that. He should be in right, Stern is just more athletic and better fit for playing center in Fenway.

wmp is actually a better CF than he is a RF.

what's more, he hasn't played a full season since...ok, he's never played a full season in the majors. when he was 22, he hit .260 with 26 bombs through 336 ab.

somebody--i wish it could have been the reds--please let the man play ball. for serious. just let him play. baseball is a rhythm sport, and especially for the developing players, getting regular PT is huge.
