Brad Penny Injury

Postby ActionHero » Sat Apr 15, 2006 8:13 am

Doesn't seem serious --

From the LA Times:
If Brazoban's situation wasn't bad enough, Brad Penny, perhaps the Dodgers' top starter, left Friday's game after six innings because of a bruise on his pitching arm.

In the third inning, Steve Finley's drive nailed Penny above the right elbow. Penny scrambled to retrieve the ball, threw out Finley and remained in the game.

The bruise apparently got worse as the evening went on, and Penny left after making 78 pitches. The Dodgers listed his condition as day to day.

I was wondering why he left last night after throwing a 2 hitter through 6, with only 78 pitches thrown. Thanks for the update. ;-D

I picked him up a little while ago and have had him for 3 starts and he has been an absolute stud. He's been looking better than Oswalt, and much better than Peavy, my two aces. My best move though was picking up Greg Maddux in the last round of the draft, he 3-0 with a 1.33 ERA and a 0.69 WHIP.

I hope Penny is fine.
