I was thinking about what my teams statistics look like after the season, and what I do as a manager throughout the season.
Statistically:
Batting- I always have a good BA, picking up a good amount of steals, but find myself on the lower half of HR, RBI, and R
Pictching- Good ERA, Good WHIP, hardly any ever wins to show for it, not a lot of strikeouts either, but I can grab those saves.
As a Manager:
- My yearly guy I'm in love with, ends up busting.
- I seem to always win my trades.
- I have good luck picking up breakout pitchers.
- I have poor luck picking up breakout hitters.
- My first round pick always decides to make me mad.
- I always wind up with a below average SS.
- My waiver claims work out most of the time.
- I have good depth on my bench.
How do things seem to pan out for the rest of you?
Well I am one who always is toward the top in runs, HR's, and RBI's, middle of the pack in avg. and steals. For pitching I am up there in Wins, and K's, middle of the pack in saves, and in between middle of the pack and bottom of the pack for ERA and WHIP.
-As a manager I always seem to have a very strong draft
-I ALWAYS making very good late round picks, and I make excellent FA pickups. Even if I dont pick up the right the first couple times, the right guy(s) always ends up on my team from FA.
-I can get too worked up and impatient if my team isnt producing right away and I make a handful of trades that ultimately worsen my team (bad habit Im trying to get rid of this season, so far so good).
-My sleepers/bounce back players always decide to breakout/bounce back the year after I draft them.
-I am very good at picking up setup pitchers that eventually take over the closer role (last year I had Hermanson, Valverde, and Todd Jones all before they assumed the closer role. This year I drafted Ambiorix Burgos and Rafael Soriano, hopefully Soriano assumes the closer role. Also I picked up Tim Worrel before he became the closer, but IM not sure if that counts because its Benitez' job when he comes back. I also picked up Joel Zumaya, but I doubt he gets the closer role, I just want to enjoy the ERA, WHIP, and K's he will help me out with).
-Last year I had guys like Jim Thome, Adrian Beltre, Aubrey Huff, and Justin Morneau...Im sure they will all be much better this year than they were last year.
-I normally make the right start, if I am 50/50 on a guy for my Utility spot, I will choose the right guy most the time.
-My team always seems to have a lot of HR potential
-The starting pitchers I draft in the middle rounds are the key to my success (this year I got Kerry Wood, Oliver Perez, Javier Vazquez, and Brad Penny in the middle rounds...so far only Penny has made me look smart.).
-I normally finish in the top half of the league but I have yet to win a fantasy baseball championship (except for yahoo! public leagues, but they are public leagues lol).
-I always have the best draft
- Players who I draft who are suppose to be very good like Adrian Beltre or Jason Schmidt turns out to be complete busts.
- Trades always seem to go the other way.
- Pickups are my forte. Thats how I win almost everytime.
- I never finished less than 3rd in any of my 12 man league in a while.

Seriously , what were you expecting Beltre to do? Hit 45 homers?

Well I was excepting Beltre to hit at least 30... but I guess I was wrong.
-I always have a good draft
-I always load up on guys I may not need but who I trade later
-I am always wheeling and dealing because I'm good at it and get the most out of trades
-I have pretty good luck with picking up FA pitchers
-My goal is to get good enough players for every spot on my team so I don't have to look at FA's or swap guys in and out
For example on the wheeling and dealing...over the last few days I've managed to turn Oswalt/Pettitte/Tracy into Manny/Carpenter/King Felix by making different trades with different managers. The other people are actually competitive yet I always am able to do things like this.
I always have strong drafts.
I always go after strong whip and K pitchers, who can be grabed in the middle rounds.
I usally never draft injury prone players but this year, i have 5 DL players in the first 2 weeks of the season. I like to draft balance O players, who can hit for avg. hit for decent power and grab me 20 steals
