How do I look??? WHIR!

Postby Los_Dodgers » Fri Apr 14, 2006 2:00 am

I think I still may need some help. Here is my team. Things may seem a little off, but that's because I'm in a 20 category league, so saves are undervalued and things such as holds are valuable. The individual categories are: R, HR, RBI, SB, BB, K, PO, A, E, AVG, IP, W, L, SV, H, BB, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP
10 Team Head to Head League
Here is my team:
C: Jason Varitek
1b: Ryan Howard
2b: Chase Utley
ss: Julio Lugo
3b: Troy Glaus
OF: Bobby Abreu
OF: Carl Crawford
OF: Adam Dunn
Util: Garrett Atkins
Util: Chris Shelton
BN: Randy Winn

SP: Jake Peavy
SP: Felix Hernandez
SP: Curt Schilling
SP: John Patterson
SP: Cliff Lee
SP: Brandon Webb
SP: Jason Schmidt
SP: Jeremy Bonderman
RP: Derrick Turnbow
RP: Armando Benitez
RP: Francisco Liriano
RP: Brandon McCarthy
RP: Duaner Sanchez

Thanks for all the help, guys.

Note**: I am not looking to trade Chris Shelton. His value is deteriorating by the day and I don't even think I can get equal value for him anymore. He is second in the league in putouts and I am going to keep him.

Who are some guys you think you could get from other managers? Who are some FA's? What deals were you thinking of? Post those and we'll comment.

Id try to get polanco, he never strikes out and he is a very good fielder so hell help u in some of ur less popular catagories, try utley and a scrub for polanco and another player close to utleys value. Id also trade Ortiz for another top 1B who actually plays 1b, with 3 1st baseman ull almost never lose PO, try Ortiz for Teixera, or Ortiz for Helton+. One last thing id do is try to get some stud mrs, like a shields or linebrick, and dont keep week closers like rietsma since they only really help in one catagory.

Your offense looks incredible. I agree that you may be able to use Ortiz to upgrade overall.

The only thing I would be looking to do if I had your roster would be to add a quality starting pitcher for wins, era & whip. Other than that you look very solid.

Shelton at utility is just killer.

Good luck & thanks for your input on mine.

Thanks. I think your squad looks solid. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Let things unfold and see what comes available to you either via free agency or trade offers.

Ya you definitely have a good team for those categories. THe only thing I would consider is upgrading Chris Young at SP possibly. Sorry I was so long in getting back to you.

Man your team looks REALLY solid - especially offensively. Your pitching staff looks great though there are age/injury concerns with Schmidt, Schilling Benitez and Smoltz. Also, Reitsma is a trainwreck waiting to happen. But overall your team is STACKED. What are there only five teams in this league? ;-)
Good luck and thanks for the help on mine.

I would look to deal Ortiz for an actually fielder also. If you want another guy who never strikes out, check out Bill Mueller. I think he's struck out a total of 2 times this year.
Chuck Norris has counted to infinity, TWICE!
