I'm in a 12 team, h2h, 5x5 league. I'm wondering what everybody's thoughts are regarding having one (or two) middle relievers who won't get you many saves, but will pitch often and help your WHIP and K/9 IP. Any thoughts on this?
If you go by this idea, who are some guys who fit this mold? McCarthy from the White Sox? Others?
Both the WHIP and K/9 IP categories are there for me to win with a guy or two like this, IMO.
Thoughts?

Does this strategy make sense though?
BTW, Shields and Liriano are already taken in my league.

yes. it makes sense. nice placeholders until you can snag a recently-promoted closer off of the wire.

They should help out the K/9 very well, WHIP not so much. They would help out WHIP and ERA more significantly in a roto league.

All three names that were suggested in this thread are gone. Any other suggestions?

Rincon and Crain. The Twins have great pitching and terrible offense, which makes for a lot of low-scoring games that can turn into W's for middle relievers.

You can find guys on your own. It's what the good fantasy managers do.
If you're up to that task yet, you can try this thread:
