You're right...he has been a fast starter in previous years. You're also right that he just doesn't have a place in the lineup unless someone gets hurt or gets traded. They're not going to sit Burnitz after paying him 6 million bucks to play RF.
There are plenty of possibilities for him, but whether the Pirates will follow through on them, I have no idea. They could have an OF of Burnitz, Bay, and Wilson some nights if they really want. They could play Craig at 1B or RF, but I doubt he'll be catching at all. They've basically misused his talent up to this point, and it doesn't look like they're going to fix it soon.
The absolutely stupidest thing they could do right now is trade Wilson...he's capable of hitting 30 HRs and who is like 7 years younger than the current RF...but they'll probably do it.

I wouldn't mind if it was for an established good player, but knowing the Pirates they'd get freaking prospects that have no future.
