Have the Pirates even attempted a frickin' steal this year? I was looking at Bay as a 5-tool player, but it doesn't look like he's going to even attempt one all year the way things are going....

bay got most of steals towards the end of last year, i think he stole more than half his years total in the last two months. it's a long season. you didn't draft him as ricky henderson (imagine what round he'd go in in his prime.... hmm, #1 over arod and pujols?).

anyway, bay has a lot of time to get the ~20 steals you drafted him for. hang in there.

Good point, Jayman. Just after I typed my message I checked the scoreboard, and lo and behold, Bay stole a base. Uncanny.

Tracy's a very conservative coach. That being said, he is a player's coach and will allow his players to do what they're good at (i.e. let Bay steal), but within reason. 20 steals is probably the most to expect from Bay this season.
