Alright, I've totally been rubbing it in my league's face that I picked up Papelbon as a FA. On our message board, two people posted something like "Sorry to hear about Papelbon. Looks like that was a great pick-up for one week."

Please tell me they're just screwing with my head. I can't find anything online about an injury or a roll change.

papelbon is not hurt and looks like the teams closer-for now.
the sox do plan on closing with foulke when they feel hes ready.
as for now, foulke will be pitching the 8th inning but if he does that well, hell be the closer soon with papelbon going back to middle relief.
dont be surprised if you see papelbon starting before to long, which is what the sox have planned for him in the long term, so keep your eyes on boston to see if they trade clement or wells. either way, you have a young gun on your pitching staff that will get you Ks, saves(for now), and eventually Ws. continue to rub it in the face of your leaguemates who are obviously green with envy and are probably trying to goad you into dropping him

Best rule of thumb is to always assume someone is bluffing until you've fully checked it out first (which you did in this case, nice job!)

I keep reading how Boston wants to give the job back to Foulke when he's "healthy". I just can't see how they'd do that if this kid keeps pitching the way he is right now. I'd say Papelbon closes as long as he can handle it.

Personally I don't see BOS taking him out for Foulke if he's getting the job done. Plus, how close can foulke be, didn't he get hit around the other day in the 8th, vs. TOR, when Papelbon eventually came in and shut the door on them?

Foulke is a bum, they would be retarded to give the closer job back to him. He barely hits 90 on the radar gun anymore, and his balls are straight as an arrow. Stick with Papelbon, I bet he ends up getting 30+ saves
