Come on guys, how can anyone be sure of the content of a thread if it's not even "official"? I think it adds validity to any thread and it needs to be used more often.

I also think we should have more bandwagon threads, too.

personally i'm not against them becasue i figure more people would post in the "official" when will Freel start full time thread than all of the following threads

That's a good point. There's probably 50 threads called "Freel" but none of them get to 4 pages like the official one. ;-D

Maybe instead of "official" we can use "unauthorized". Like 'The Unauthorized Biography of....'. It'll make it seem tawdry, thus bringing more people into that thread. :-D

I agree its become cliche and a little annoying, but its very convinient. Its a specific place to look about a specific topic, and gather everything into one thread as opposed to picking it out of a bunch of smaller threads. Everyone can flock to that one thread to see what the update is as opposed to start a new one.
I agree that its overused and whatnot, but its not really hurting the forums or affecting anything.

So quite your whining. :-D
