Justin Upton or Ian Stewart?

Postby Phatferd » Wed Apr 12, 2006 3:56 am

I have the 5th pick in my draft (all minor leaguers not in Yahoo's database) and so far the draft has gone:

Wood
Billingsly
Kendrick
Gordon
My pick

I am torn between these two players. Am I overlooking someone else?

My current keepers are Pujols, D. Young and Felix. I only get 3 keeper (minor leaguers we draft we can keep for 3 years after we put them on our roster after those 3 years we have to get rid of someone else to keep them or drop them).
You have no frame of reference, Donny. You're like a child who walks into the middle of a movie...

that's tough...Upton is awesome, and so is Stewart, I might be in the minority here, but I think I like Stewart over Upton here. I like the idea of Stewart being able to hit in Coors hopefully next season, if not sometime this seaosn ;-D

I think it is also a toss up, but like ryan said because Steward plays in Coors, he will have an easier time hitting!

In most cases, I would say Justin, but in yours go for the extra 1.5 years of Stewart (@COORS no less). Drew wouldn't be a bad choice here either.

Upton has much higher long term upside.

I'd take Justin Upton, he would have been my #2 behind Delmon.

Upton would be the easy choice for me as he is #2 only behind Delmon imo.

If you can wait, then Upton... but if you want a player who you want to contribute in one to two years, Ian Stewart is the man.

Based on the SB potential, Upton. But Stewart likely makes it to the majors mid-2007. Don't see Upton before 2008 (and likely mid-2008 at best).

But, in dynasty, long-term means I take Upton.
