Prospects

I'm curious if anyone has any info in the players that the Mets have gotten in their recent trades. Ring looks pretty good and like he'll be up next season sometime and Diaz (2b) also looks to be a pretty good hitter. But the others are total mysteries to me.
Anybody know anything?

I like the Burnitz deal for the Mets. None of the three guys they received are big-name prospects, but they're all solid players who could turn into contributors in time. They won't pay instant dividends, but that's not what the Mets were after. Nice job starting to restock their minor league system. ;-D

Metsfan- Thank you for your insightful and well written reply. Well done.

Also, I agree that I like the prospects from the Burnitz deal from what I can tell. The Mets will always have money to go after the big name players. If they could just get a solid surrounding cast and then go out and sign a free agent or two then they could be a pretty good team in a couple of years. I just wish I could find more info on these guys they're getting in these trades... Anybody know any good sites that discuss prospects in-depth?

Hank

If some of the young prospects they have now can pan out and they can hold on to some of the young talent they have now they could be a force in the next year or 2.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

I've probably answered this one at leas five times in this forum.... :-b The Mets have done a good job in stacking up their farm system the last year or so. No more Alomar, no more Cedeno, no more Burnitz....The future is Wright, Duncan, Heilman and co. ;-D
