Not really...Gathright was playing already anyways and Huff was handling 3b ok (can't really say adequately since he'll never be a good third baseman) so Huff wasn't the one in the way of playing time for Gathright. Baldelli would be the one to squeeze the play time and he's out until May now.

But Gathright hasn't been playing... I'm not too up on TB, so I'm hoping 3B replacement is an OF, or now a DH position now makes another OF position...

Gathright doesn't start against LHP usually...maybe that's what you've been seeing. I know they just came out of Bal and I'm pretty sure they faced at least 1 LHP there (Bedard).

As for the 3b replacement being an OF'er...no dice there. They have several 3b/if guys including Branyan and Wigginton to fill in there. The OF is Crawford, Gomes, Hollins and Gathright. Branyan did fill in there occassionally (at least he's on the depth chart) but those 4 are the main guys. Gathright will continue to hit 9th and start against RHP and sit the bench against LHP in all likelihood.

I'm going to trade my 5th OF (probably mench) for him and stash him on my DL to reap the rewards 2nd half
