Huff just injured!

He didn't feel anything pop," Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon said. "It just freaked him out more than anything. It was such a weird fall. I just didn't want to take any chances on leaving him out there any longer."

Should get some more news today...doesn't appear to be too serious. This injury however, actually could force me to make a smart fantasy move by putting someone else in the lineup until Huff heats up.

Good thing he got that third base eligibility! Now he, Aramis, and Cantu can all hang out and cry on the bench together. If Tracy's mysterious secret ailments continue to factor in the mix here, I will be picked dry of options :,-(

Now, they said he did in fact get x-rays and MRI last night. No DL announcement as of yet. Sooo...Anyone else hope they DH him for a while?

A sort of update, from Huff himself:

Huff suffers knee sprain

X-rays and an MRI revealed that Aubrey Huff suffered a sprained left knee when he collided with Nick Green while trying to catch a foul ball in last night’s game, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Huff said he is day-to-day, and his status is uncertain for tonight’s game.

Dang...looks like 4-6 weeks. Guess you really shouldn't speculate on the injury until fully diagnosed...this stinks.

Could this mean a callup for Upton or Young?

I'm assuming Upton since he is a bit more seasoned in AAA, and they are thin in the infield...

Good move, being that the season is 26 weeks long.
