HELP: How to get *AWESOME* Yankees tickets?????

For all you New Yorkers:

I am looking to hit a Yankees game sometime in late June and was wondering how one would go about getting really good seats. Is scalping allowed and where would good seats exactly be?

Check yankees.com for seat info. as for getting the tickets, there are plenty of scalpers outside of the stadium but you have to be wary of them selling you fake tickets or generally screwing you over. try stubhub.com or craigslist and you should be able to find what you're looking for.

Good luck. It's virutally impossible to get any great seats to any worthwhile game. You might be able to luck out and get decent seats to like a Tampa game or something. Even then, it'd be difficult/expensive.

Beware, when scalping. I've had good luck (Game 7, 2004 ALCS) and bad luck...regular season Sox-Yanks game last year.

General rule: You're more likely to find 'real' tickets if you stick closer to the stadium. No one is going to be selling fake tickets (unless they're idiots) extremely close to the stadium - better chance of being caught by a cop. The one time we got burned was a few blocks away where we were trying to park.

I have never used StubHub but I hear it is the safest. I get good seats from a guy who posted an ad on Craigslist. You have to be careful on that site because I have seen people get ripped off. I would insist on talking to the seller on the phone and then taking a chance for one game. If you find someone you can trust that could be your source of tickets for years.

PS, the tickets are still expensive. I was buying $55 face value tickets for $70 bucks a piece. But I really love the seats.

StubHub is pretty reliable and eBay is usually. I just bought 2 sets of tickets off eBay about a month ago and both came in a timely matter. You can't really get screwed over from eBay because you can usually just get your money back as long as you pay with PayPal.

When I went to the opener a few days ago, there were plenty of scalpers walking around the stadium and also a ton of cops, who didn't seem to bother with them. If you don't know what game you plan on going to, that's probably your best source of tickets when you get there instead of getting a seat in Row X on the tier level from the booth. If you know what game ahead of time and plan a trip to the stadium around that, go for StubHub or eBay.
