Kerry Wood

Postby Redlegs » Tue Apr 11, 2006 3:46 pm

Kerry Wood is available as a free agent in my league. What is his status and likely performance after his return?

I realize he may be out until late april, most likely june before he pitches meaningfully for fantasy stats. However, my league is full of savvy owners who are up to date on everything. Therefore my opportunity to get wood is limited and he will be grabbed as soon as any good news is reported on him.

please advise.

thanks

I grabed him; put him on my DL and then crossed my fingers.

According to the Chicago Sun Times Wood was clocked in the 90s during BP yesterday.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

thanks for the responses, and yes i did see that report of being clocked in the 90's and everybody was happy with his performance overall.

so i went ahead and picked him up, i had to dispose of a middle reliever, Cotts, so it's an interesting move. i like the possiblities.
