I know it will be tempting to go out and pick him up after his performance last night, but there are two things you should note about that performance:
1) He only struck out three batters, and
2) He was pitching against the Pirates.
If he can repeat that performance later on this week against the Cubs, then I'd say he's ready to be picked up. Remember, this is the guy that won something like a dozen straight decisions back in 2004. Granted, that sort of stat is more luck driven then others, but it still says something about the combination of his skill and the team he plays for.
