Guys, is he legit for a solid BA and 25-30 steals this season?

he's had 21 major league at bats. who knows.
Hes off to a great start but theres really know way to tell where he'll be at the end of the season or even in a couple weeks. Alot of times rookies come in and hit great but in a couple weeks pitchers find out what they cant hit and what looks like a great batter becomes an avg hitter.

Hanley is the real deal. He will easily get 18-30 steal this season, with a strong batting average, and he will continue to get extra base hits.......a ROY candidate.

Ok...I just can't resist anymore...my apologies to the Ramirez family for the following tasteless joke.

Hanley is NOT a bastard regardless of whatever you've heard in the tabloids. He is indeed legitimate.

I was very excited about Hanley when he was in the Red Sox system. He has a lot of potential, and starting showing it in the minors. I believe he made AAA all-stars the past 2 seasons.
But as Jugemc said, he is a rookie. I don't think you can expect anything too high from him this season. He's just going to be off and on a lot, as most rookies are.

There are two things that concern me about Hanley

First question is if he can continue to get on base. He doesn't walk to often and he only hit .271 in AA in 05. With that said, he has great contact, and his carrer minor league average is 302

Second, will he have the green light all year long? His SB% wasn't all that good in the minors(.71%). If Girardi keeps giving if the green light, he should be able to steal 20-30.

Yeh Hanleys average last worried me now someone picked him up. So it sucks but I think he will come back down to earth sort of like Aaron Hill last year.
