Team Help: Am I as bad as I performed Week 1?

Points based league, weird scoring system. Only a prize for first place (30 percent of the pot), but also a 10% cut for seven OTHER categories, including runs scored, RBI, head to head wins, winning streak, home runs, pitching strikeouts, and pitching wins.

Weird enough...so I'm not necessarily trying to win the whole thing, as trying to win as many categories as I can too. We start 3 pitchers every week, and 1 RP. Their points are awful in our scoring system--average pitchers score less than half what average hitters do.

Question is, what do I do from here? Am I missing something? Should I be picking up someone? What should I be trying to deal for, or is my bad first week just bad luck? Is my team okay?

I can offer a bit of anectdotal advice and that is that I owned both Mauer and Morneau last year and both were solid producers while healthy, but it always seemed like the Twins are willing to plug in someone if any of their players has the least bit of an ailment or need for rest. I found myself recording a lot of empty lines for Twins hitters last season.

Don't know how helpful that is, but it would lead me to advise you to have a decent backup 1B ready go if you can catch the starting lineups well enough in advance of gametime.

I'm noticing that. Problem is, once we set our lineups for the week, they're set.

That's why I have so many pitchers. We don't have an innings max or anything, so I try to start a lot of two-start pitchers.
