Giles initially tweaked his upper right quad earlier in the week at Los Angeles, then aggravated it running out of the batter's box on a groundout to third in the fifth inning. He remained in the game long enough to lead off the top of the seventh with a walk, and eventually scored, but pulled himself out of the game before the bottom half.
On the groundout when he aggravated the injury, Giles said, "I started running and I figured it was going to blow out, which is why I stopped running before I got to first.
"I'm glad I stopped because I've got a great chance of playing [Monday], but if I run through the bag, who knows how long it would be?"
