Technically it's Sunday already. I just want to get yesterday past me since Millwood looked horrible. Verlander looked good. Even had a pitch or two that hit 100 on the gun. His curve isn't that big of a deal, but when you're sitting on a 95+ fastball and the curve comes in, you're screwed. His changeup was nice though. I can see why this kid is a big prospect. This sounds crazy, but most of the Tiger pitchers are throwing some serious heat, so would it be nuts to think a year or two down the line that they could be good? Probably too early to say, but they actually seem to have a pretty good start in the pitching department.
Anyway, the good news is that we've got Padilla going today, and he looked great in his first outing. If he can do it again, it should put a stop to this skid, and maybe get us back on the right track. Wouldn't hurt for the offense to figure out how to hit the ball though.
