Absolutely ridiculous.
Tiger fans without the MLB package have been able to watch 1 game this week. A week in which the Tigers are 5-0, have the hottest hitter in baseball in Shelton, one of the most electric setup men in Zumaya, and a young sensation in Verlander shutting out Texas in Texas. 1 game, and it was against KC. Next week we get 2.
Unreal.
Id love to get real excited about this team right now, but all I can do is listen to the games. Thanks Dave.

If they did that in NY, taxi cabs would be being flipped in a riot. That just ain't right, man... damn shame...

I encourage you and all other Tiger fans to complain to the organization about the lack of tv coverage and poor radio coverage (in terms of reception; 1270 is just gawdawful).

Almost any pitcher can dominate for one night. Verlander is a fantastic prospect, but he's also still a rookie. He will have his ups and downs, and he'll have nights when a couple pitches stay over the plate and get hit hard.
Tonight was one of his great nights, but he's going to struggle. If you pick up Verlander, just play the match-ups and try to start him at home.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

What kills me about this is that Comcast's MLB package thing blacks out local games so we can't even see the ones that aren't televised. And what is really stupid is that the Tigers took a bunch of grief last season over the exact thing. Don't they listen? You have to strike while the iron is hot, and the Tigers are as red hot as Beltin' Shelton.
As for Verlander, I heard a couple innings at work and they were saying that he hasn't gotten control over his hard curve yet. That's the pitch that made him unhittable in the minors. If he can harness it, look out. He could blow up.

Wow.
I feel for Tiger's fans. I live less than 20 minutes from Ameriquest Field, and I get to see each and every single Texas Ranger game of the season. I've got a great cable package, but all that's needed to see every game here is just plain old basic cable. Quite a few of the games (maybe 35-40%) are on local television, while the rest are on Fox Sports Net.
I'd definitely be throwing a fit if I was in a city that didn't have the home baseball team's games on somewhere.
Oh, and Verlander did pop 100 on the gun.

talk about getting screwed...I go to NYU and live in the city...I don't get either msg or yes, so I can't see any of the mets or yanks games...the only games I can see once in a while are the braves games on tbs...it's an embarrassment, and as a yanks fan, amazingly frustrating
I actually got an offer for him a few days ago (J Guillen). I rejected it. I'm not real attached to him at this point and the guy has Ollie so I just offered that deal. I doubt he'd have done it a few days ago but it's at least tempting if the guy wanted him.
Not sure if it's really a good deal for me after today, but I feel more comfortable with Ollie long term.

Mets play on SNY now Time Warner hooks me up with both channels, so I won't miss a Mets or Yankee game (or Jets for that matter)

another frusturated fan here. at least WB20 picked up 15 additional games, which should still make us the least televised team in the majors.
oh well, going to Comerica on Saturday to see them play Tribe
