Tim Hudson: Injured or just a has-been?

I'm trying to decide whether he's worth picking up from the waiver wire tomorrow morning.

Two starts against mediocre lineups:

#1: 4 IP, 6H, 3BB, 3K, 5ER
#2: 4 IP, 8H, 3BB, 0K, 6ER

Total: 8 IP, 14 H, 6BB, 3K, 11 ER

I wish I had an answer for this. I have Hudson, Pettitte and Garland on my teams and am getting absolutely killed so far. They've been horrible. I know it's only the first week, but it almost seems like they've already ruined my season.

Pettite should be fine. Hudson, on the other hand, got lit up like a Christmas tree last year too.

Garland is okay as long as he's not your #1 or #2.

Hudson has been ugly so far this year, but he will be fine. He's only 30 years old and doesn't appear injured. His control has been awful, but over the last 5 years he has been one of the more consistent pitchers in MLB ... don't panic after 2 starts

Hudson should be fine, I'm going to try to steal him in a trade. Many
pitchers are getting lit up in the first WEEK of the season. So much for
the conventional wisdom that Pitchers are ahead of hitters early in
the year.

hudson is a has been as an ace, never gonna be ther again, as a solid #2 or good #3 pitcher however, I bet he will put up decent numbers

I usually think 3 year avearge is a good indicator - 14 wins, 3.217 ERA, 1.217 WHIP ... plus he's pitching in the NL, in a pitchers park, has not had arm problems (some crab with his oblique last year) ... anyhow, the original question was "is he washed up" and these are hardly the stats of a washed up pitcher. If you want to make your judgement over his first 2 starts then go for it

Hudson is very overrated in fantasy. He is not a fantasy pitcher he has a low ERA and thats it. His WHIP is average at best his k's are brudle and Wins are pretty good. His numbers IMO are not worthy of a 3rd starter he is a decent 4th.
