Baldelli's on the DL, so why is Gathright out of the starting lineup...again (2nd time in 3 games)? Is 31-year-old Damon Hollins so good Gathright becomes a part time player?

What I'm missing, here? Why in the world isn't he starting...every game?

Not even all that reasonable, really. Just the only thing that could possibly make an inkling of sense... I feel like there's a bunch of monkeys using their feet on typewriters in Tampa's front office sometimes... :-t

Hollins just hit against Pete Walker (RHP) in the 7th. Looks like Gathright won't be pinching hitting over hollins against RHP right now.

i dont get it, they want to trade gathright... why bench him?
wouldnt it make more sense to showcase him for a trade?

Well they put Gathright out as a defensive replacement after Hollins AB. Goes to show how much faith they have in his OBP right now.

I don't know what his minor splits are, but he's 8/22 against lefties in the majors.
