Official Delmon Young thread

Postby killa3312 » Fri Apr 07, 2006 9:05 am

For you owners, or future buyers out there, this will be the thread in which all comments about Delmon Young will be directed.

Yesterday, he went 2-5 with an RBI in the AAA opener. Durham has a loaded roster this year with Upton, Young, and Dukes batting 2, 3, and 4 in the lineup, and Hammel, Shields, Jackson, Seddon, and Orvella in the rotation. Fun team to watch.

Trying to duplicate my Felix thread last year? :-b

In any case though I don't think he will be down there too long. It will be interesting how far the Durham team makes it though as a good portion of that team could be in the bigs around the all star break.

Okay. When CAN Delmon Young be up, at the earliest?

Probably not before Badelli hurts himself again, Gathright is traded, and Hollins is demoted. No sooner than All-Star break?

But he has 3 SB's already in AAA

He could be up today if the DRO wanted him to be. I actually would prefer him to stay in Durham for at least 2 months though just to give him a little more seasoning.

Delmon is now batting .420 with 10 steals... ;-) one month away (my guess) fingers crossed.

Yes he is hitting great, which is good news as it shows that his bad 2 months last year in Durham was nothing to worry about.

So far it has been easy stashing him away on my bench. Tho I almost dropped him for Craig Wilson.

Anyhootie...he is homerless but batting .371 with 12 SBs. Can't Rays see him as a catalyst that they need? They have to make a ML trade and open up space for him.
My Friendliness bar...recently shrunk from 11.3 to 10mm long!!
