Great....just got back from a draft and I do not know if he was drafted. Should I drop Papelbon for him? I only can make 4 roster moves this season so I need to know....is he the closer for the season? Any competition for the job?!??!??!
Whew! I was beginning to think I was an idiot for drafting Baez in the 15th round(our league counts Holds). And I ALMOST dropped Baez for Papelbon. Now I just kinda feel bad for Gagne's owner.
Anyone know when Gagne's going to hit the yahoo DL? I don't want to drop him outright, if possible. Baez is taken already, so I'm looking at Weathers/Miceli/Burgos/Devine...

He'll hit the DL today. Gagne is done for the year!
I had him in one league already and in another the guy I'm playing in h2h dropped him on Wed and I nabbed him last night. I was hurting for saves, too. If Baez can save 40 games in TB, he should be good to go for LAD.
Nothing is even remotely certain until after they do the surgery. If you have the roster space you should probably hang on to him at least until after they give the post-op prognosis.

Is this for certain? I read that it would be at least two months, but I haven't heard anything beyond that.
Nothing is certain yet, and I would stash him on your DL until you hear something more definitive.
That said, though, this is a guy coming off two major surgeries within a year now, and has pitched only 14 games this year and last. It wouldn't be shocking if he was forced to miss the season for this, or even that he might not be given the closer's job back automatically even if he does return.
Too bad, good Canadian kid, that Gagne.
You've got a diamond, You've got nine men You've got a hat and a bat, And that's not all..
i dropped baez b/c i thought he would be just the set up man and decided to pick him back up b/4 this predicament....driving home from work last night i heard the news and my heart sank ...baez was just sitting there frshly off the waiver wire from my dropping him 5 days ago waiting for somebody to just pick him up ...got home didn't even speak to my wife went straight to the computer and .........
So rotoworld and other sources report that Gagne's surgery was a success, and that he'll be allowed to resume throwing in three weeks and could return in as early as eight weeks from now. I wouldn't bet on eight weeks, but it seems like he's worth holding on to.
When is yahoo going to list him on the frickin DL?
