I think Heilman, Sanchez and Wagner is a pretty good bullpen. How many teams have excellence beyond their top 3 relievers? Also, don't forget about Bradford, who I think will be excellent for us, as well as Ring and Bell, who is down at Norfolk. May not be the greatest bullpen of all time but it's pretty good and I think it will be the best in our division.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
True, I did forget about Bradford, I think we need Ring and Bell up though instead of Julio and Darren Oliver. I guess I'm just irritated that Julio sucks. But yea the pens decent.
I definitely agree about Julio. I was hopeful that Peterson could work some magic and get him back to his '02 form. But he was absolutely awful.

Feliciano has been called. The Mets are carrying 12 pitchers now.

Bannister may not be a fluke; he had a great spring and has not only pitched well, but has pitched well under pressure. Glavine is pitching like he wants a Cy Young and Pedro will just get better as his toe heals.
Now, Zambrano is another story altogether; I would MUCH rather have Benson in that rotation than Zambrano who is effectively worthless. In fact, I'd rather go way back and still have Kazmir. But what can ya do? Omar's no dummy, Xavier Nady has been quite a gem of a pickup. Sanchez, Heilman and Wagner are a solid bullpen by themselves and Bradford's a fine righty specialist. But Jorge Julio is all but worthless at this point.
I liked Wagner's comments to Wright when he apologized for the inining-prolonging error:
"I don't like that. Don't apologize to me. If you're trying to make errors, then you should apologize. If you're not, then don't apologize. I ain't apologizing for giving up a home run."
