Anyone know anything about how long he might be out?? I could sure use the roster spot if it's going to be a lengthy stay on the DL. Thanks

The only reports that I have seen on Rotowire came in the preseason and were very speculative. They said that he 'could' be out over half of the year.

I heard that his back could force him into retirement... anyways half a season is the time right now.. I was thinking using him in the DL also..but probably not worth it as of right now

From CBS Sportsline

According to head trainer Herm Schneider, Hermanson remains in extended spring training in Tucson, Ariz., and could throw in a simulated game for the first time next week.
(Updated 05/25/2006).

It could be time to take a flier on Hermanson if you have a spot available on your DL. Frankly, there ain't much out there for injured players beyond Gagne who are worthy of holding down a roster spot. On the other hand, I am not sure that even a healthy Hermanson could win the closer's spot from Bobby Jenks who seems to be doing fine for the CWS. I am interested what others think...[/i]

For those people who play in leagues that count holds, Hermanson could have very good value if he was placed in the main setup role.
