Question about roto???

I've always done H2H up until this year but I decided to try one roto team this year. I have one question - if I start someone say in the OF and he ends up spending the game on the bench, does this count against my total games played at the position???

Only if he actually enters the game. Even as a defensive replacement, he still uses up a game, even if he doesn't have an at bat.

I had Mackowiak go in as a defensive replacement... I had to set my lineup before I saw who was playing that day because I had somewhere to be, and I thought that Pods might be sat for injury reasons... Anyway, he gets up, and promptly gets hit by a pitch. What a waste! (Although, next year we are switching to OBP.)
