I don;t know why the Twins didn't go after all of the Rockie 3B? Ian Stewart is ready now!
Stewart isn't going anywhere....Atkins is just a stop gap. Don't get me wrong, I love Atkins. But Stewart is the future for the Rockies at the hot corner.
I wanted power. Defense is nice, but it can't hit homers and provide things a player ala Thome or Blalock can.
Just to play devil's advocate--the last season he played in the bigs, he had a really low BA/BIP. He doesn't really strike out all that much, and I think he could concievably inch up to a .260 BA. His OBP will never be good, but if you're in a deep 5x5 league he could get you .260/30/100. And hey, he also stole 14 bases last time out (though with a terrible percentage). He might not, you know, totally suck.

For fantasy purposes, maybe. His fantasy value really depends on where the Twins play him. If they put him up in the middle of the order he's going to get his rbis by sheer chances. Then he'll be an upper level waiver wire guy in a 12 team mixed league. If the Twins do the right thing and bat him low (or even better, not at all) then he wont' be worth anything outside of AL only leagues.

I think he'll make Twins' fans sick, but not much else.
The only good thing about Batista back in MLB is that it means his batting stance will be in baseball video games at least 1 more year.
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.
