Soriano injured?

Postby DC nats05 » Wed Apr 05, 2006 9:10 pm

I'm not watching the game, and on yahoo it says that Marlon Byrd went in for him, and Soriano came out in inning 5 or 6.

defensive purposes !

Manager Frank Robinson said that either Byrd or Damian Jackson could be used until Soriano gets more familiar with the position.

Soriano was pulled for not running out a popout.

Alfonso Soriano - OF - Nationals

Nationals manager Frank Robinson confirmed that Alfonso Soriano was pulled from Wednesday's game for not running out a popout.
"That's the rule around here," Robinson said. "They've all been told. It's been said more than one time." Soriano, hit in the helmet by a pitch in the second inning, popped up to the catcher in fair territory in the sixth and hardly budged from the batter's box. He said he thought the ball might fade into foul territory, but Robinson's decision was fair and he wasn't surprised by it. Unless Robinson really wants to make a point, Soriano will be back in left field on Thursday. Apr. 6 - 1:48 am et

Ugh. I hope they trade him sometime.

I agree. He teaches the game the right way. Soriano could learn a lot from him this year if he's willing to listen.

no joke, torre did the same thing to him a couple of times when he was with the yankees. soriano's talent is sky high but his ability to learn the fundamentals is apparently zilch.
you can't live the dream, if you don't play the game
