Throw in the fact that Sanders/Sweeney will most likely be traded to a contender by July, I can totally see this team being one of the worst if not THE worst team in this era.
How is it that a franchise can be run so damn poorly? I mean, I think the fault lies one of two places. It's either the owner (is Glass still the owner?) is too much of a tightwad, or they hire the worst GM's.

They might have to fight the Marlins for Vagas.
It is bad for bussiness to have two teams looking to move at once. Normally MLB plays the cities off each other to get new ballparks, but if two teams are looking to move, the cities now have the upperhand.
longtime KC fan.....thr problem is lack of talent resulting from a tightwad owner.......the GM can only do so much. he has NO margin for error with EVERY draft pick and FA signing, and then that may only get them to .500 because of the owner and his "budget". His budget isnt even meeting what the league gives every team from revenue sharing.
KC went from the highest payroll in MLB in 1994 to the lowest in less than 10 years, and its not due to a "Small market" its called "crappy owner holding city of 2 million hostage"
until Glass goes, dont look for KC to win more than 75 games, and thats in a GREAT year.
They'll continue to be horrible until Grienke (let the guy pitch how he wants to) comes back, Bautista finds the strike zone, Alex Gordon and Billy Butler gets called up, and Mike Sweeney is moved (contract really handcuffs them) for Huber.

Yes, being a Royals fan is tough. You watch them develop good young players, only to watch them trade them away when they reach their potential. Their starting pitching is god-awful this year (and Greinke isn't the answer), and their hitters have no plate discipline whatsoever. I would imagine Sanders, Sweeney, MacDougal and or Affeldt are all traded before the season is over.
I watch most of the Royals games that are on TV, and I would love to say something good about them. But right now they are on pace to lose 162 games. Sooo....
Renovation was approved by the voters, a rolling roof (or some such nonsense) was voted down.
That's too bad, because that rolling roof thing looked like it would have been pretty cool.
