How can Kurt Cobain be called one of the "best vocalists ever" when nobody could understand what he was saying?

This sounds like all the people who really loved the way Bob Dylan sang - couldn't understand that guy either.

Both sounded like they had marbles in their mouths.

Still, I like both of their music, so take that with a grain of salt I guess.

Are you going by your own opinion or by what other people say. Ask any respected person in the music business and they will agree with me.

Argument could be made that you don't necessarily have to enunciate properly to be considered a great vocalist. I loved his voice.

Layne

Dirt is one of the most depressingly awesome albums ever.

I Have Never Felt Such Frustration
Or Lack Of Self Control
I Want You To Kill Me
And Dig Me Under, I Wanna Live No More

One Who Doesn't Care Is One Who Shouldn't Be
I've Tried To Hide Myself From What Is
Wrong For Me, For Me

I Want To Taste Dirty, A Stinging Pistol
In My Mouth, On My Tongue
I Want You To Scrape Me From The Walls
And Go Crazy Like You've Made Me

You, You Are So Special
You Have The Talent To
Make Me Feel Like Dirt
And You, You Use Your
Talent To Dig Me Under
And Cover Me With Dirt

When I was a kid it was all about Nirvana/ Alice in Chains/ Red Hot Chili Peppers- they were the trifecta.

I remember seeing Lithium on Mtv as a kid and immediately having my fragile little mind blown X-I

You don't need other people to tell you what is good or bad music. Of course it's my opinion - but the fact that other people agree with me makes my opinion no more or less valid, nor no more nor less valid than your opinion. It’s just an opinion, and like certain body parts everyone has one. :-D
