I was gonna pick up Heilmen before I realize he didn't make the rotation and instead at #3 was this kid. Who is he and what are the odds that he does well? He' svonly 25. But I've never heard of him before.
How is his control, stamina, and power?

90-95 is generous. He works in the low 90s (doubt you'll ever see him throw a 95mph fastball), not very overpowering. he has good control and knows how to pitch, not a lot of strikeout potential.

He will pitch against the Nationals in his first start, so he's got that going for him, which is nice.

He's got a lower ceiling than Heilmen, but Heilmen isn't pitching in the rotation... is he in the doghouse? Or do the Mets just feel he isn't ready yet.
A low 90's fastball with no sharp curve or slider pretty means a #4 or #5 pitcher. Gonna pass on him, thanx for the analysis guys.

i'm stashing Heilman away on a deep roster. any projections if/when he'll get a chance in the rotation?
if/when a starter goes down. it's not that the he's in the mets doghouse. he just pitched so well out of the bullpen last year and with bannisters lights out pitching this spring they jumped on the opportunity to get him back in the pen.
we give the young guy a shot, and strengthen the pen. if bannister fails expect heilman to take his spot.
