yeah I just traded Willis and Hudson for Pedro and I thought the Boston Bullpen was solid now that Kim was closer.
But, if you lose the lead in the 8th Kim can't help you.

Pedro lovers claim this cost him the Cy Young last year. I'm sure we'll be hearing the same old excuse again this year.
If he was a bit more durable, he could have gone out there for another inning and handed it off to Kim. He hit 100 pitches, and he is out of the game. That is why I don't think he is the most dominant pitcher ever, and I would put Johnson firmly above him for modern day dominance.
Pedro was lucky to be in position for the win since they were tied after 7. He broke even, and everybody feels shorted out of something.

Pedro doesn't finish the game, he's too soft. He throws 120 pitches, he's getting overworked. Listen guys. Pedro is a great pitcher no matter what. The most important thing is that the Sox came away with the win, so they didn't throw his 7 inning, 1 run, 8 K day out the window. Kim got the save yet again. And the best part is the Sox are just 1 game back with 1 to go before the break. Hopefully this isn't just a prolonged slump.....
And I would say the pen held up well today. Its not like they got shelled. Embree gave up 1 run, then they got a scoreless inning from each Timlin and Jones (great pickup for the Sox) followed by another lights out (well sort of) inning by Kim. Life is good.....
