Sabathia Officially on the DL

Indians ace C.C. Sabathia was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday after straining an abdominal muscle during the season opener against the Chicago White Sox. The Indians called up 6-foot-6 right-hander Jason Davis to take Sabathia's roster spot. Sabathia was forced from the rain-soaked opener in Chicago on Sunday night after just 37 pitches. In the third inning, the left-hander felt his muscle "grab a little bit" while pitching to Tadahito Iguchi. "It was just the one pitch," Sabathia said. "I don't know what caused it."

Fantasy Analysis
Doesn't sound too serious, but we'll see how quickly he can get back on the mound. Davis has made 52 starts for Cleveland over the last four seasons but has minimal Fantasy appeal.

The Cleveland Indians also claim that it will not take 3 to 5 weeks for CC Sabathia to recover, but it will be 3 to 5 weeks until he rejoins the roster because they believe CC needs to "work on his stanama and get in shape" - Indians Flagship Radio Station WTAM 1100
