Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks this.

he has great patience at the plate... beyond his years... and he can play the field too... if he gets stronger he could hit for power, i'm hoping for 20 HRs/20 SBs with great AVG. and OBP. i got him for $1 and so i'm planning on watching him grow into an all-star

He's fun to watch because he looks like a high school kid out there pounding the ball with the big boys.

I hope Dusty stays committed to guys like Murton, Cedeno and Pagan. They could be a lot of fun to watch this year with the young talent out there every day.

How do you value his potential relative to more proven guys one would have to drop for him? Wouldn't you rather have more of a sure thing?

Most are picking up Murton as a backup OF. So if it came down to having Murton or say someone like Mark Kotsay, I would go with Murton and hope he pans out.

He's probably going to be about 300/15/?/?/12 or so this year. He definitely got lucky yesterday (obviously since nobody hits .750 for an entire year) but he's definitely got the potential to be a solid OF'er especially if you're getting him for free off the FA list.

He has hit at every level he has been at, so no reason for that not to continue. I haven't seen anything to show me he will be a base stealer, so the 20 guess in an above post seems a bit off. He is a patient hitter that hits to all fields, he has a good base and will grow into some power. If you project his numbers out from last year he had 7 Hr's in 150 AB's over a full season that would put him in the 25-30 range, not exactly the power you look for in a corner OF'er but that coupled with a +.300 avg. makes for a very productive player. I think the power numbers will bump from there in future years also. This kid can hit and he will be a player
