Urbina traded to Marlins

That's an awful deal for both teams. Urbina isn't worth a top prospect like Gonzalez, IMO, while the Rangers need an SP...not Gonzalez, as good a prospect as he is. The Marlins would have been better off keeping Gonzalez to play in the outfield, or acquiring an SP for him.

Maybe they are thinking they can trade some of that offense later this month for pitching? Let's at least pretend they are anyway.

are you kidding? the market for young OF's is bigger than the market for a closer. dont forget, the trade deadline isnt till the end of the month, and a guy like Gonzalez doesnt even need to be turned into pitching by then, the rangers have thrown it in.

Like I said, let's at least pretend. Otherwise, what are they thinking?

The Florida announcers are saying that Urbina will set up for Looper.

Man, I hope he sets up for him. That means I have Looper still closing and I can deal the recently acquired Cordero to help my other weaknesses.

I was watching the Marlins game on tv tonight and they said that McKeon is going to use Urbina in the setup role.

My take - I can't see Looper keeping the closer job for very long.

I agree. Looper sucks. He should be the one setting up. But I'm no manager.

Looper, although with less saves, has better stats. Less blown saves and a much better ERA. What are you talking about?
